csarchitects, have been commissioned by Custodian Sunbury Syndicate Limited to develop modular home designs for their Sunbury estate near Melbourne in Victoria.
Site conditions are particularly challenging due to steepness and weather conditions.
csarchitects has developed a layout using three separate platforms to accommodate site steepness while minimising earthworks; this separation allows the design flexibility to be transposed to other sites in the estate.
The design sets the levels partially in the ground, minimising the building profile when viewed from afar.
